Constitution of Croydon
Sea Angling Society.(Updated
16.12.03.)
- That the Society be
known as “The Croydon Sea Angling Society.”
- That the object of the
Society be to encourage the art of sea angling and to promote further
social contact among its members.
- That the business of
the Society shall be conducted by a chairman, vice chairman, secretary,
treasurer and two committee members, and by such sub committees as drawn
from its own members. A quorum for a committee shall be three. The
committee will meet four times a year at three monthly intervals.
- That a six weekly
meeting for all members be held.
- The officers and the
whole of the committee shall be elected at the Annual General Meeting to
be held in December each year. Before the election, all members will be
given the record of attendance at the committee meetings during the past
year.
- A Special General
Meeting may be called either by the committee, or, by a requisition to the
secretary signed by six members, but no business shall be transacted at
this meeting other than that for which the meeting has been called. All
members must receive fourteen days notice, with agenda, for such a meeting.
- That the accounts be
audited and signed before submission to the AGM.
- That the general rules
and competition rules can only be altered at the AGM.
- That if any question
arises that is not provided for in these rules the same shall be dealt
with by the committee, whose decision shall be final.
- The Society can in no
way be held responsible for any accident, loss, or, damage to any club
member, or, property whilst engaged in any event organised by the club.
- The committee will
organise all trophies and prizes according to the financial state of the
Society.
- That the monthly
subscription for adults be £5 paid in two bi-annual instalments of £30.No
member may take up a place on a trip unless his subscription is up to
date. No member shall be eligible to compete in any competition, or, enter
his catch for prize of specimen fish, unless his subscription for the
current month has been paid.
- That new members to
join the club as full members. Prospective new members will need to be
proposed and seconded and voted in by the members present at an official
club meeting.
- All trips will be
fished according to NFSA rules and size limits.
- In the event of the
club being dissolved all monies in hand will be shared out between all
members that are fully paid up at the time of dissolution.

Rule 13 That new members join
the club as Associate members in the first instance and do not pay
subscriptions. Associate members may book trips up to three months in advance.
Casual members may book up to one month in advance. Associate members may apply
to join the club as full members at the next AGM.
